Melbourne 6 Can't Resist Lure of the Ale

According to SMH (January 17, 2006) six people have been arrested over the hijacking of a truck in Victoria earlier this year.

The armed offenders pulled over the truck under the guise of police on January 4 and kidnapped the driver at gunpoint.

The truck was carrying large supplies of alcohol.

The truck driver spent more than eight hours tied up in the back of the car before being dumped in Melbourne's North.

Police arrested the six people last night in Laverton North where the truck's trailers had been found burnt out.

The Police are now waiting for the offenders to sober up before they begin questioning.
