Swim Classes Booked Out - Swim Australia Consider Using Local Rivers

The Sydney Morning Herald (January 15, 2006) report that a huge surge in demand for swimming lessons this summer has led to massive waiting lists at Aquatic Centres.

Swim Australia chief executive Ross Sage told reporters that an increased awareness about water safety has sparked the interest.

Other sources suggest that media-lover Dawn Fraser has issued a challenge to all under five years olds in the 12.5 metre race. Fraser is yet undefeated in this class.

Figures show that the increased education of the risk of swimming has seen water-related fatalities almost halved in young children.
