Swimstar Addicted to Close Shave

Australian Swimstar Michael Klim told the Far Side today that he was 'addicted to plucking and shaving.'

The condition, called Trichotillomania, is an 'impulse disorder that causes people to pull out the hair from their scalp, eyelashes, eyebrows, or other parts of the body, resulting in noticeable bald patches,' according to the Trichotillomania Learning Centre.

Klim admits that he has been a long-time sufferer of the disorder, and 'just can't help but want to be hairless.'

'It started when I was eleven,' Klim told the Far Side, 'I met my childhood hero, Genie Little; only to find out she was a bearded old lady. Things have never been the same.'

Klim is one of many Australian celebrities that suffer from Trichotillomania and other compulsive-related disorders.

Others of note include Bob Downe, who is addicted to polyester and hawaiian shirts; Kearin Perkins, who now lives soley on Uncle Toby's Fruit Bars; and John Burgess, who has resigned his life to living in a neon lit room and talking only in rhymes and catch phrases.
